Aspyr is pleased to provide workforce Area 11 local training providers with new policy guidelines for the provision of training services within Franklin County for Adult, Dislocated Worker, Achieve More and Prosper, and Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funded programs. These new directives put in place best practices to ensure mutual success and the delivery of successful training outcomes across the region.
The Aspyr system established under WIOA emphasizes informed consumer choice, job-driven training, provider performance, and continuous improvement. The quality and selection of providers and programs of training services is vital to achieving these core principles.
The Aspyr Innovation and Opportunity Act Policy Letter No. 16-2.2 states that local workforce boards may establish additional criteria regarding the selection of eligible training providers (ETPs). In addition to eligibility procedures for the State Workforce Inventory of Education and Training (WIET) list, ETPs must also follow the eligibility procedures established by the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio to be considered an Area 11 Approved Training Provider, eligible to provide training services to any client enrolled in a WIOA funded program.
