Aspyr is proud to announce the establishment of the Central Ohio Workforce Development Network, a collaborative initiative providing comprehensive support and resources to job seekers and employers throughout the region. This pioneering effort coordinates sixteen established, non-profit agencies, 13 of whom offer workforce development components, ensuring seamless access to vital services for businesses and individuals.

The Workforce Development Network represents a landmark partnership, uniting organizations with diverse expertise and focus areas under one umbrella. From supporting individuals in the urban core to assisting businesses with talent recruitment, each member agency contributes a unique perspective and specialized services to the collective effort.

Inaugural members of the newly launched network are Alvis, Godman Guild, Goodwill Columbus, Jewish Family Services, OhioMeansJobs Columbus-Franklin County, Dress for Success, Columbus Urban League, New Directions Career Center, Impact Community Action, Ethiopian Tewahedo Social Services, Columbus Literacy Council, Columbus Works, National Center for Urban Solutions[LP1] , One Columbus, and the Community Shelter Board. Aspyr serves as the anchor and backbone of the collaboration.

“By joining forces through the Workforce Development Network, we are breaking down barriers and creating a unified pathway for job seekers,” said Scott Johnson, Director of the Workforce Development Network. “No matter where individuals are in their journey or their challenges, they can access a wealth of resources and support through any member agency. This collaboration ensures that there is no wrong door for those seeking to enhance their skills, secure meaningful employment, and build brighter futures.”

The Workforce Development Network embodies a shared commitment to empowering individuals and strengthening our community’s workforce. Member agencies can maximize their impact and reach even more individuals by pooling resources, expertise, and networks.

“As non-profit organizations dedicated to community development, we recognize the power of collaboration in driving positive change,” said Bo Chilton, Executive Director of Impact Community. Action. “Together, through the Workforce Development Network, we are better equipped to address the complex challenges facing job seekers and create pathways to economic opportunity and stability.”

The launch marks a significant milestone in advancing workforce development efforts in our community. Aspyr and the COWDN agencies look forward to continued collaboration and collective impact as we work toward a future where every individual and business can thrive.
